From the Land of Hope and Change
Three dead, eight wounded by gunfire in one day.
In Chicago, that’s called a Tuesday.
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) – A 15-year-old girl and two men are dead, and at least eight other people were wounded by gunfire throughout the city Tuesday, police said.
Police say 15-year-old Haydia Pendleton died after she was shot in the back while hanging out with a group of teens in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park about 2:30 p.m.
Needless to say, if this girl were white, and had been shot in her classroom, the Obama public relations department [see also: mainstream media news outlets] would have seen to it that her name and face were seen on every TV screen and newspaper in the country, in a non-stop 72-hour news loop.
But, since this happened in the president’s backyard, in a city with the most stringent gun control laws in America, her death can’t be used as a propaganda tool that the Obama administration can use to destroy its political opposition, advance its radical, leftist ideology, and crush the individual rights and liberties of the citizenry.
No outrage from the “progressive” pundit class.
No live broadcast, “special report” press conferences.
No demands for a national “conversation”.
No presidential task force.
Some dead children are more equal than others.
UPDATE: The president did make a statement today about the shooting of Haydia Pendleton. I’m guessing it wasn’t followed up with something along the lines of “Yeah, you know, that handgun ban isn’t working out all that great, is it?”
