Self Empowerment = Liberty
From the Union Leader:
Prompted by concerns for their own safety and that of their families, more women in New Hampshire are purchasing guns, learning how to use them and practicing their shooting skills, say firearms dealers, shooting range attendants and the Second Amendment Sisters.
Self-reliant women empowering themselves to protect themselves and their families? Who could possibly be opposed to such a concept?
OK, who, other than so-called “progressive” Democrats? For some strange reason, they prefer a scenario where a woman facing an imminent threat of grievous bodily harm has no choice but to pick up the phone and call 911, so that big, strong men with guns can come to her rescue.
“There’s always been interest in the classes and gun ownership in general, but we have seen growing interest among women,” said Bob Gillespie, owner of Belmont Firearms and Range in Belmont. “We have women taking safety and shooting courses with their husbands. We have single women. The classes are usually full, and it’s pretty even between men and women taking part.”
He’s not kidding. The next available openings in the popular Handgun Orientation For Women course at the Sig Sauer Academy in Epping is July 13th, and those spots aren’t going to last long.
