They’re raffling off guns made with 120-year-old technology! NH chiefs’ gun raffle to include semiautomatics

NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police plans to give away 31 firearms, including several semi-automatic weapons, in a raffle to raise money for a youth training academy.

The raffle is planned as a national debate heats up over whether to restrict citizens’ access to firearms, especially semi-automatic weapons commonly used in mass shootings, following the Dec. 14 school shootings in Connecticut.

This would be like a news article stating automatic transmission vehicles are “commonly used by old people to drive through storefronts in strip malls”, as if to imply there’s something extra-dangerous about them, or that there’s some kind of epidemic of crazy old people drives sweeping the nation.

All but the most dimwitted of readers would recognize immediately that there are simply more automatic transmission vehicles on the road today that there used to be.

A state legislator, Democratic Rep. Sharon Nordgren of Hanover, says the gun raffle shows insensitivity as the country tries to grapple with the issue.

What’s to grapple with?

Crazy people do crazy stuff.

Criminals do illegal stuff.

99.9999 percent of us do neither, and we refuse to let the deeds of the above-mentioned crazy/criminal class define and dictate the terms of our freedom.

No grappling required.
