Honesty and Transparency in NH Politics
Normally, I’d be the first to applaud a politicians who stands up for what he or she believes in, and discusses those beliefs and principles in an open and honest manner with the voters.
But, usually such words do not reveal a deep-seated personal desire to destroy the freedom and liberty of one’s fellow citizens, as was the case with State Representative Cynthia Chase from Keene. Here she is, writing about the “evils” of the Free State Project. (via Reason.com)
In the opinion of this Democrat, Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today. There is, legally, nothing we can do to prevent them from moving here to take over the state, which is their openly stated goal. In this country you can move anywhere you choose and they have that same right. What we can do is to make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict the “freedoms” that they think they will find here.
The most disturbing and reprehensible thing I’ve ever heard from an elected official. And that’s saying something. It’s a long list of disturbing and reprehensible comments to choose from.
